David M. Stamps joined the UNITED STATES AIR FORCE in 1986 when he graduated from Northwestern High School in Flint Michigan. David moved to Detroit in 1990 where he wrote and produced original theatrical readings regionally until 1996 when he moved to Los Angeles, California where he worked at CBS Television City writing dialogue for the United Cerebral Palsy Telethon. David scribed copy for a variety of celebrities, including Alaina Reed – Hall and Shemar Moore. He also co – produced the ‘unofficial’ theme song and video footage entitled “UCP” which was aired nationwide many times throughout the broadcast.
As a part of 2B Continued Productions, Stamps produced a weekly poetry, music and comedy showcase at The Atlas Supper Club, his poetry and original songs led to his work on the critically acclaimed Russell Simmons’ Def Poetry Jam, where he worked closely with the show’s Creator/Executive Producer – Bruce George. He also booked talent for the Saturn Women to Women Series to perform with celebrated poets Nikki Giovanni and Sonja Sanchez. But his pinnacle of poetic praise came when Smokey Robinson, a long time idol, told him “Son you are a poet.”
Working with Love’s Child, a non - profit organization, David produced a poetry contest with prizes using celebrity judges followed by an open mic; he was also the Master of Ceremonies. He went on to produce a (3) three - month workshop working with disadvantaged youth facilitating the processing of painful emotions through creativity and poetry. To that end, Stamps secured a venue, created a budget, provided transportation, hired faculty and created a curriculum through Love’s Child.
David has produced a reading of his highly anticipated piece ‘That’s Just The Salt in Sugar’ at The Beverly Hills Playhouse. His latest screenplay entitled ‘The Day The Devil Went Down To Georgia’… about a rapper who sells his soul to the devil to blow up proves the dramatic premise… “Success without love is no success at all…” is in negotiations for production.
David Stamps’ Spoken Word, Poetry set to music DVD entitled “The Deadly Ms. Susan Aside” has been accepted to a number of film festivals. The music producer, Chauncey Mahan, also produced “The Bodyguard Soundtrack “one of the largest grossing soundtracks of all times” – five minutes and eight seconds of musical imagery combined with poetic verse. David Stamps, CEO of ISCRIBE ENTERTAINMENT, INC., is currently seeking distribution for all of his company’s intellectual properties.
